Location: Halat, Lebanon

Area (sqm): 28,000

Project details & specs:

HAT is a beach resort, project located in HALAT sea side area with a direct beach access, having a floor area of 6,000 m2, divided between private pools, chalets, restaurant and venues.

Plumbing & HVAC

Water Supply:

Project is supplied by municipal and cistern untreated water filled in specified concrete water tanks in basement, then water is treated via softener to reduce water hardness by ionic bonding generating soft water with a hardness of 100PPM, soft water is then stored in concrete treated water tank located in basement
floor. Soft water is then fed to kitchens and chalets via water booster set.

Common hot water storage tanks are located in basement floor feeding chalets; Solar hot water generation is the main source, solar panels are located on roof of each chalet building. This configuration lowers the fossil fuel use rendering the system more eco-friendly.

Heating System:

Heating is provided via common cast iron fuel oil boilers, and a remote water heating taken from generators water coolant via heat exchangers, this will reduce the usage of fossil fuels.

Chalets are fed from common boilers, chalets heating is via aluminum radiators and towel dryers. The common system adopted has enables to lower consumption cost for each individual since each will pay only his usage cost.

HVAC:

With a total cooling load of 554 KW, HAT is cooled via direct expansion air-conditioning units serving chalets restaurants and kitchens in basement. Due to the sea side location, AC units selected are corrosion resistant ensuring full protection to installed air conditioning units.

Catering wedding and other venues HAT kitchens located in basement requires powerful ventilation providing clean air circulation in common areas and kitchen hoods fresh air and exhaust, in addition to kitchens, restaurant and chalets requires ventilation to ensure clean air circulation. This is achieved via large capacity ventilation fans installed inside basement area and on restaurant roof.

Total fresh air load 17,000L/S, Total hood exhaust capacity 16000 L/S, Total exhaust air capacity 7,700L/S

Sewage Treatment:

Due to the absence of municipal sewage line, and to reduce water consumption, HAT is equipped with a sewage treatment plant capable of rendering used water to clear and stored in a specified concrete tank located in basement, this water is used for irrigation, by applying this technique water usage is reduced by re-using waste water for irrigation. The plant capacity is 7m3/h.
